Hawkins to SF for Jerome Williams and Aardsma

As I mentioned in my post about Windsor, the A's are going to need another starter in the near future. Jerome Williams would have fit in very well. David Aardsma would have been great in the pen for years. Anybody else think they would have been a nice take in for Dotel?

A player I'd like the A's to draft with the 2nd round pick they got from the Brewers for Miller is Brent Cox, Huston Street's replacement at Texas.

In 2007 the A's would be looking at a bullpen with Street, Garcia, Aardsma, and Cox. All young, all hard throwers, all inexpensive. Hopefully they'll at least feature Street, Garcia and Cox.

Windsor to Midland

Sam has informed us that Jason Windsor has been called up to Midland after Matt Lynch suffered an elbow injury. Seems like pretty good news. The A's are going to need another starter pretty soon (probably next season) so seeing what Windsor and Braden can do at higher levels right now gives the A's a better idea of just how much a starter will be needed via trade or draft.

I doubt another team has 3 or more players from the 2004 draft in AA or above already. A's have Street, Windsor, and Braden.

Ethier, as I said in the notes part of tonights post, is 7 for his last 8 with a sac fly, 2 doubles and a hr. Here are the 9 PA's, in order, from www.minorleaguebaseball.com

Andre Ethier singles on a line drive to left fielder Ryan Spilborghs.
Andre Ethier singles on a line drive to right fielder Sean Barker.
Andre Ethier out on a sacrifice fly to right fielder Sean Barker.

Andre Ethier homers (6) on a fly ball to right field.

Andre Ethier grounds out, first baseman Corey Slavik to pitcher Yusuke Arakawa.

Andre Ethier doubles (7) on a line drive to left fielder Shane Costa.
Andre Ethier singles on a line drive to center fielder Mel Stocker.

Andre Ethier singles on a line drive to left fielder Shane Costa.

What more can you ask for in a young hitter other than line drives to all fields?
